New Rayfin Uplink Unlocks HD & 4K for Legacy ROVs
New technology brings HD & 4K digital imaging to legacy and analog ROV systems
Real-time digital imaging. No Ethernet required
A new way to modernize legacy ROV fleets without major system upgrades.
SubC Imaging has introduced the Rayfin Uplink, a new camera technology that lets operators achieve digital 4K video and high-resolution using their legacy ROV systems. Designed to work with older or analog setups, the Rayfin Uplink bridges the gap between traditional subsea platforms and today’s high-definition imaging requirements.
SubC’s Uplink technology provides a digital link between a topside laptop or control unit and a Rayfin camera on the ROV. This tech utilizes twisted pair or coax cabling within an ROV tether, bringing today’s image performance to established ROV fleets that do not have fiber optic connections.
“Many offshore operators need better image quality, but their ROVs weren’t designed for modern bandwidth and digital workflows,” said Chad Collett, CEO of SubC Imaging. “The Rayfin Uplink changes that. It gives teams access to the highest imaging quality using the systems they already own.”
By using existing signal paths within the ROV, the Rayfin Uplink offers a cost-effective way for offshore inspection teams to expand the scopes of work of their ROVs. As inspection requirements and client expectations for higher resolution imaging increase, solutions like the Rayfin Uplink help operators keep pace without major capital upgrades.
