New Hibernation Feature for Long-Term Timelapse

SubC Imaging is excited to announce the release of our exclusive new Hibernation feature, an optional hardware add-on to the Autonomous Camera System. Designed for subsea camera systems running on battery power, this add-on allows long-term timelapse over months and even years, capturing slow processes that wouldn't be visible to the human eye.

"Our customers have been requesting this feature for a long time, and we're thrilled to finally provide it. It’s the result of our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible with underwater camera systems," says SubC Imaging CEO and Camera Systems Manager Chad Collett. "The Hibernation feature will allow our customers to capture incredible footage over extended periods of time, even in remote locations with limited access to power sources."

How it Works

The Hibernation feature allows the Autonomous Camera System, powered by a Rayfin subsea camera, and connected equipment to be deployed in a location and left to run for months at a time. All footage is stored in the camera's internal memory, and the camera runs through a script before hibernating to conserve power. After a set period of time, the Hibernation function powers the Rayfin back up to run through the script again. This process continues until the system is retrieved or runs out of battery.

Success & Support

To ensure the success of your project using the Hibernation feature, SubC Imaging has created detailed documentation, guides, and webinars that are included on a USB stick with your Autonomous Camera System order. This material covers everything from testing and setting up a script to the wiring and deployment of your system.

With the Hibernation feature, SubC Imaging is once again pushing the boundaries of what's possible with underwater camera systems. We're excited to see the incredible footage our customers will capture using this new add-on.
